WHO ARE YOU ? UNDERSTANDING YOUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST.

In a world that constantly tries to define us by our roles, achievements, and appearances, it’s easy to lose sight of who we truly are. But what if our identity isn’t something we earn or create, but rather something we receive? This month, as a life group, we are diving into the topic of Identity—who we are in Christ, what it means to be His masterpiece, and how embracing this truth transforms the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Week 1: Understanding Your True Identity

Ephesians 2:10 tells us, “For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” But do we really live as if this is true? This week, we’ll reflect on our identity beyond our daily roles and uncover what it truly means to be defined by God, not the world.

Use these daily journaling prompts to go deeper:

  • Day 1: How does Ephesians 2:10 remind you of your worth?
  • Day 2: What does it mean to be God’s masterpiece in your daily life?
  • Day 3: In what ways does embracing your true identity change your perspective?
  • Day 4: How can understanding your purpose shape the choices you make today?
  • Day 5: Reflect on a time when you felt confident in your God-given identity. What made you feel that way?
  • Day 6: How does knowing you are uniquely created by God influence how you treat yourself and others?
  • Day 7: How can you live today in alignment with the truth that you are God’s masterpiece?

As we journey through this topic together, may we step into the fullness of who God created us to be, walking in confidence, purpose, and truth. Let’s challenge ourselves to not only understand our identity in Christ but to live it out daily. 💛

“Remember who you are. Not who the world tells you to be, but who God created you to be.”

We often define our worth by how we feel, what we’ve done, or what others say about us. But God sees us through a different lens—one of love, purpose, and value. This week, reflect on the differences between your own view of yourself and God’s truth. Where do your thoughts align with Him? Where do they need to shift?

Week 2: Defining Your Worth in God’s Eyes

God’s Word reminds us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), deeply loved (Romans 8:38-39), and chosen with a purpose (Jeremiah 29:11). But do we live as if this is true? Do we allow His truth to shape our self-worth, or are we still letting the world define us?

This week, take time each day to reflect on a characteristic or quality that God says about you. How does focusing on this truth bring comfort, confidence, and peace?

Daily Journaling Prompts:

  • Day 1: When you think about your worth, what thoughts come to mind? How do they compare to what God says about you in Ephesians 2:10?
  • Day 2: Do you believe you are uniquely created by God? Why or why not? How does this truth challenge or affirm the way you see yourself?
  • Day 3: Think about a gift or talent you have. Do you see it as valuable? How does God’s purpose for you give it meaning beyond what you might believe?
  • Day 4: What labels or negative thoughts have you placed on yourself? How does God’s truth replace them with confidence and comfort?
  • Day 5: How does trusting in God’s love for you impact your confidence today? Do you find it easy or difficult to trust that love? Why?
  • Day 6: When you think about your purpose, do you feel at peace or uncertain? How does knowing God has a plan for you bring assurance?
  • Day 7: What would change in your life if you fully believed that your worth is defined by God, not your past, mistakes, or the opinions of others?

Living in Your True Worth

As you go through this week’s reflections, challenge yourself to replace any negative self-talk or doubts with God’s truth. When you feel unworthy, remind yourself that your worth is already set by your Creator—unchanging and immeasurable. You are loved, chosen, and valuable, not because of what you do, but because of who you are in Christ.

Let’s step boldly into this truth, walking in confidence, peace, and purpose, knowing that our worth is secure in Him. 💛

“Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is an illusion.”

Week 3: Letting Go of False Identities

We all carry labels—some spoken over us, others we’ve placed on ourselves. Words like not enough, too much, failure, unworthy, or undeserving can become part of our identity, shaping how we see ourselves and live our lives. But these false identities are not from God. He calls us chosen, beloved, redeemed, and victorious.

The enemy wants us to believe lies about who we are, keeping us stuck in insecurity and fear. But Jesus came so we could have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This week, we will confront the false identities we’ve carried and replace them with the truth of who we are in Christ.

Take time each day to reflect on a false label you’ve accepted and how it has affected your life. Then, replace it with a truth from God’s Word and step into the freedom He offers.

Use these daily journaling prompts to go deeper:

    • Day 1: What is a label you’ve accepted that doesn’t align with who you are in Christ?
    • Day 2: How does that label affect your self-worth and your actions?
    • Day 3: What truth from God’s Word can you replace that label with?
    • Day 4: How does embracing God’s truth about you bring freedom?
    • Day 5: Reflect on the weight of this false identity. How does letting it go lighten your heart?
    • Day 6: What steps can you take today to live out the truth of who you are in Christ?
    • Day 7: How does releasing these false labels empower you to walk confidently in God’s purpose for your life?

Letting go of false identities isn’t always easy, but God’s truth is more powerful than any lie we’ve believed. When we replace those old labels with what He says about us, we begin to live with confidence, freedom, and purpose.

As you go through this week, challenge yourself to speak life over yourself, to reject any label that doesn’t come from God, and to fully embrace the identity He has given you. You are His masterpiece, His beloved, and His child—and that is the only identity that matters. 💛

“Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.”
