How to Plan and Enjoy a Purpose-Driven Solo Retreat

How to Plan and Enjoy a Purpose-Driven Solo Retreat

Taking a solo retreat can be a transformative experience, especially for purpose-driven women like you. When you take a break and allow your body to recharge and rejuvenate, it creates mental space for creativity, reflection, and planning. These elements are invaluable, empowering you to tackle your goals more effectively.  I know this from personal experience.

Two years ago my husband and I went to a couples retreat to the mountains of Utuado, Puerto Rico. We stayed at Montesagrado Reserve and I experienced one of the greatest moments of growth of my adult life. Rather than being activity packed, the retreat offered plenty of free time; we enjoyed being completely surrounded by nature and far from all the sounds, the hustle and bustle of the city and the hectic pace of everyday life. The retreat was implacably hosted, balancing both movement, stillness and the slower pace of life that natures invites us to enjoy.

The retreat had unexplainable ripple effects inside of me, like an urgency to create, a surge of inspiration, and an overflow of creativity that engulfed my thoughts. It was as if pausing super-powered and fuel my productivity. Feeling completely inspired, I returned home and created the Revise & Co. goal book. In less than 6 months the book was written, edited and printed. It’s indescribable how taking a break from everything (including technology, especially phones), can create such a motivational spark. Boredom truly can be a precursor to creativity because it can lead to new and fresh ideas that perhaps wouldn’t have come up if you were distracted.

Due to its profoundly transformative impact, I decided to repeat the experience the following summer. This time, I brought the Revise & Co. book to the retreat, and it significantly enriched the entire experience. It provided a structured and guided approach that facilitated deep self-discovery and personal growth while offering practical tools and strategies for effectively planning the entire year. This comprehensive support enabled me to maximize my retreat time, ensuring I left with a clear vision and actionable goals.
